What Are We Mapping?
The question is what do you want to map?
We can…
- take your quantitative data – measurements of the state of the local environment or the economy and create visualisations that can be combined with other data layers to clarify the cause of problems and highlight possible solutions . We can work with you to develop survey methods and collect your own data of noise, or traffic, or crime – what do you want to measure?
- map qualitative data too – surveys of people’s perceptions of safety, what people think about living in a particular area, the things people like, dislike or want to change.
- turn directories or lists of organisations into maps that show you where they are based, what they do and how to contact them. Our online interactive mapping system allows you to choose a range of categories and associated icons to represent your areas of interest.
- map what’s happening and what’s going to happen – we can put events on a map so that they disappear the day after, and we can arrange for everyone using the map to receive text or email alerts two days before the event.
- map ideas – or at least the places where ideas can turn into reality: we can map possible sites for growing food or creating new play spaces, or sites that are unsafe or polluted and need to change. The same maps can document positive transformations, social and environmental impacts and serve as a permanent archive.
- map stories and histories – records of what has happened in an area can be linked to specific places , so that anyone can click on that point to find the history (and the pictures as well)
We enjoy what we do and would love to hear from you what you think we could help…
