Community Mapping
This is about the engagement of communities in capturing and visualising local knowledge in maps. Paper and electronic maps are used as the focus for engagement activities that bring the community together and reveal the areas where action is required and the organisations that are active. The maps provide a permanent and developing record of local activities, priorities and aspirations. They can support work to change places and record changes as they take place. See some maps that have already been developed.
Geographical Analysis and Visualisation
We work with client information, open data from the government and other sources, and apply the capabilities of geographical information systems to visualise complex issues to assess patterns of activities, action and needs. These can be used for funding applications, demonstrating impact or for daily operations.
What we do
We work with organisations who want to understand, use and produce information about the places where they live and work. We offer participatory mapping services to voluntary & community organisations, business organisation or government bodies. We use a range of online and off-line mapping tools that help in communicating local knowledge. This includes detailed Geographical Analysis.
We can help you to:
- Develop an online interactive map to engage with different groups as part of a consultation process;
- Gather, map and analyse information about specific issues or places;
- Produce maps of existing data to support a funding application or development work.
We tailor activities to client’s needs and utilise these two approaches to achieve the best outcomes.
